Charles Schwab High Yield Fund

Make Schwab Pay for Inaccurate, Alleged "Safe Cash Alternative," Investments

When Charles Schwab & Co. used its good name to market its Schwab YieldPlus as a safe "cash alternative" and high yield fund to retirees on fixed incomes and other investors, many people believed them and invested in what they thought was a trustworthy company and a conservative investment.

Schwab Safe Investment Was Anything But

It turns out that the Charles Schwab high yield fund was not a conservative investment at all. In fact, it has lost more than 40 percent of its value since 2008 due to reckless concentration of investments in mortgage and asset-backed securities, which was fraught with risk. These investors stated that they did not know that Schwab High Yield Fund was fraught with risk or that Schwab began pulling its own money out of the fund in August 2007.

At Timothy J. Dennin, P.C. we have formed a nationwide alliance to investigate misconduct and to seek recovery losses for people who purchased the Schwab YieldPlus Fund. Our alliance includes former Securities and Exchange Commission regulators, former prosecutors and investor advocates.

  • Were you told that your Schwab investment was a conservative investment, very nearly the equivalent in risk to a money market fund?
  • Do you think that you were lied to regarding your investments?
  • Are you uncertain whether you have a claim?

In speaking to numerous investors across the country who lost money, New York City and Long-Island-based attorney Timothy J. Dennin has learned that many of them were told that there was virtually no or little risk involved in the high yield fund.

From 1990 through January 2009, more than 84 percent of the customer securities arbitration claims which we have tried through an arbitration hearing have resulted in a favorable award. Of the cases in which we have received a favorable award, the arbitration panel on average awarded over 95 percent of the amount requested.
